Thus armed with everything I needed I set off and arrived with little to no problems at one of the few places I call home. One of the perks of going to the Großglockner briefly after the opening of the road is that the snow still lingers at the sides. I had been yearning for such a photo for a year, and now I finally had the opportunity:
As I snapped this photo, I could feel the magic of this place again, and finally I knew why I had yearned to go back since the moment I had left a year prior. Below are further photos that capture the sheer beauty of the Großglockner High Alpine Road:
The already mentioned high alpine road.
Always a trusted companion during my trips: The Little Mite
Nature and perfect driving road are close together
and my car photography had a glo up over the last year
The famous Fuscher Törl is the first place you can get a clear view onto the Großglockner ...
... it is also an important spot for cyclist since it marks the finishing line of the peak break at 2431 meters above sea-level.
The side road leading to the Franz-Josefs-Höhe
A happy BMW driver who enjoyed being a motive in my photography
The road leading down to Fusch
A good view is never far away.
Don't forget to look into your mirror to enjoy the sight of the stunning mountain you just rolled down from ...
... and find a nice spot to cool your cooked brakes.
