Park Sanssouci is, as the name suggests, a large park surrounding the Sanssouci Palace. Once more, we are off the beaten track from Berlin and ended up in Potsdam. Park Sanssouci is a larger green space with trees and a few points of interests aside from the Palace and the New Palace. It is sprinkled with buildings that seemed to stretch from one time period over the next. There is even a ruin which is not a ruin as it was built as one since Frederick the Great fancied it. So obviously, I had to pack my camera, and My Local Potsdam Guide and I started our journey at the New Palace:
Furthermore down, you end up in a mission from Assassin's Creed: The Roman Baths
Right next to the Roman Baths is the Schloss Charlottenhof, which has also Roman touches as well as a slight Egyptian atmosphere.
Park Sanssouci also has a Chinese Tea House ... as you do:
One of the bigger buildings is the Orangerieschloss - Orangery Palace - which is, more or less, a fancy conservatory.
With a notably naked soldier in front but he is perfectly protected because he is wearing his regulation army tin helmet.
Then there is Sanssouci itself - the summer palace of Frederick the Great.
and of course, the fashionable Ruin Not A Ruin:
Overall, Park Sanssouci is a great place and lots of fun to walk through. Mostly because it is a testament of what you can do when you have too much money to spare.
